Getting to know Rebekah Hambrice
Q: When/how did you become involved with Lightbearers?
A: It all started back in 2016 when I became a student of Lightbearers my Sophomore year of college, my parents had really encouragement to join to find really good community in a season when I didn’t have one! From then on I became a intern and then started my first time on staff in 2020! My time as a student/intern was such a gift and I learned so much!
Q: What excites you about the Lightbearers vision?
A: What excites me most about the vision of Lightbearers is the high investment in the lives of students who are learning to walk with Jesus! We all need someone to walk alongside with as we learn to love Christ each day and that is what Jesus taught us, to only become disciples ourselves but to go out and make more disciples to spread His love and hope to the rest of the world!
Q: What has been the most influential book you've read this past year and why?
A: Within the past year the most influential book I’ve read is “You are a Theologian” by Jen Wilkin & J.T English because it talked about regardless of what/who we believe in, we all have a theology we have developed. If you are a follower of Christ, you also have a theology you have developed over time. And because of that it’s important to know what our theology is because that is the lens we view our Heavenly Father. It doesn’t mean we have to have a to PHD in Theology to fully know Christ, but it helps us grow in our walks with Him, it’s important!
Q: How do you like to spend your time when you're not working?
A: When i’m not working I love spending time with people, living life with people is so life-giving to me! I also really enjoy music/singing and love growing my side hustle of photography and capturing beautiful moments with people!
