Getting to know Tiara Ward
Q: When/how did you become involved with Lightbearers?

A: While attending the Kanakuk Institute, I had the privilege of hearing from a few of the Lightbearers staff. After hearing about the ministry, I was eager to learn more about the mission of Lightbearers. Discipling students and funding missions – an incredible vision to advance the Kingdom and I’m thrilled to join them as a laborer.

Q: What excites you about the Lightbearers vision?

A: Lightbearers’ emphasis on discipleship as they point college-aged students to the local church while walking alongside them during these formative years is truly so exciting to me. Discipleship requires life on life, and I believe Lightbearers allows for authentic community to be forged while equipping the students to be better disciple-makers.

Q: What has been the most influential book you've read this past year and why?

A: This past year I was enrolled in the Kanakuk Institute where I was equipped with Biblical skills for a lifetime of ministry. With that being said, I did not read many books outside of the Bible. However, one of the books I did read and highly recommend is Seeking Allah Finding Jesus. Nabeel shares his story as a devout Muslim who encounters Jesus and I love how God used a faithful Christian friend to draw Nabeel to Himself. It’s a must read in my opinion! Gentle and Lowly and Mere Christianity are two books I always recommend as well.

Q: How do you like to spend your time when you're not working?

A: In my free time I enjoy going on walks, runs, trying new coffee shops with friends, working out, listening to podcasts, and loving on my friend’s babies.
